In Painting and World Art, students investigate historical and contemporary art from a variety of regions and cultures. Working with painting media, the class practices technical and expressive projects as we develop a facility with paint and hand-applied materials such as acrylics, watercolor, and mixed media. Critiques and reflections allow us to broaden our visual and global vocabulary.

Each student created their own image, inspired by oceanic or underwater subjects. After designing original Zen-tangle patterns, these painters combined their patterns with transparent and opaque painting in multiple layers.
